SEMI PERMANENT MAKEUP FAQ & AFTERCARE

MICROBLADING BEFORE & AFTER CARE :

Not always suitable for microblading : some smokers (tend to bleed excessively therefor pushing the ink out, making retention blurred and not strokey looking ) , pregnant woman, people with diabetes, people prone to keloids or have auto immune diseases where there body does not heal well.

Before :
What factors will affect my cosmetic tattoo?
Bleeding during the procedure: Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. While this is not entirely in our control, it is important that you follow prep instructions to help minimize bleeding. This includes avoiding blood thinning medications, alcohol and caffeine before your procedure. Most people have 0 to very minimal blood.
Smoking: Smokers may notice that their tattoo will fade faster or they will bleed more during the procedure.
Sun exposure: Increased exposure to the sun will cause premature fading.
Skin Care Products: Exfoliating products (typically for Acne or Anti-Aging) will cause pigments to fade.

How should I prepare for my appointment?
You must not use Retin-A near the tattooed area before or after the procedure (two weeks before and after!)

Make sure to schedule botox two weeks before or two weeks after

You cannot take any medications that may thin your blood (i.e. Asprin, Ibuprofen, Fish Oil, Vitamin E) 48 hours before your procedure.

Do not drink alcohol the night before or day of your procedure.

Trrrrrrryyyy to avoid caffeine the day of your appointment ( I know its hard but it is also a blood thinner)

Doing any of the above may cause bleeding, which will affect how well your body retains pigment.

As with every tattoo, we recommend avoiding pools, salt water and extreme sun exposure for at least two weeks following your appointment, so make vacation plans accordingly!

AFTERCARE:

All after care will be reviewed thoroughly with Kristina the day of your appointment. We will numb you fully, review all info, FAQ, questions, aftercare, map your face out, match coloring etc, before we begin!

Aftercare soap & cream will be provided and given to you on the day of your appointment!

CREAM INGREDIENTS:
Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Beeswax, Virgin Shea Butter, Coco Caprylate/Caprate, Bee Pollen Extract, Arnica Extract, Chamomile Extract, Virgin Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Argan Oil, Lavender Oil, Organic Tea Tree Oil
 AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS:

Every 2 hrs post appointment (day of appnt ONLY)  blot brows with a clean tissue to remove lymph. If the small liquid dots dries on your brows, it’ll create scabs, and the brows will peel and flake a bunch . Blot day one only to achieve amazing healing!

Morning after  thru next 14 days (morning & night) :
Gently “dab” the area each morning and night with cleanser provided  or a non scented cleanser like cetaphyll With a VERY light touch, use a cotton swab to gently cleanse the area by tapping or dabbing through
To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants.
Moisturize and hydrate (Days 1-14, following the cleanser)
Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of AFTERCARE OINTMENT or coconut oil (if you feel dry) 2 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area.
Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin.
NEVER put the product on a wet or damp tattoo.
( you should have balm left over for touchup if you’re using it correctly. RICE GRAIN amount will cover BOTH brows. NOT rice grain on each.)
Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color.exercise
No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 2-4 weeks.
Avoid hot, sweaty saunas, showers, workout for 7-10 days.
Avoid direct sun exposure on brow area  or tanning for 2 weeks after the procedure.  Wear a hat or covering over brows when outdoors / in the sun if tanning
Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days.
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.
Avoid face-down swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days,
Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area (feel free to wear makeup on your face, just be sure to go around your brows, and when you wash your face with your own cleanser, wash around your brows as well)
DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area.
No washing through your brows normally with face cleanser until they’re fully peeled (usually 10-14 days) if you wash through too soon you can risk pulling out premature scabs
___________
DO NOT expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. This is a 2 step process. It takes time.  BE PATIENT during your healing process your brows will change and appear different from day to day.
Immediately after your procedure brows will appear darker and more defined and this will last up to 2 weeks . Your brow tattoo can appear more solid, hair strokes may seem to disappear and it may look wet and painted on.
Around days 4-5 you will experience flaking and your brows may look dry. DO NOT PICK your brows, let any dryness fall off naturally. If flakes gets picked off prematurely missing hair stokes will result and cause patchy brows which can lead to scarring.
Your brow tattoo will take up to 4/6 weeks to fully heal. When the flaking comes off the hair strokes may seem faint this is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the hair strokes will become clearer.  Color will continue to change on a daily basis until all healing is complete at the 4 week mark.
You may experience itchiness in the brows after the 10 days for up to 2 months due to the healing process of the dermal layer.
Not everyones hairstoke brows can heal clean and crisp. Hairstrokes for oilier skin types tend to heal more solid and powdery while drier skin types tend to heal more crisp and defined. Also for those who bleed more may tend to need more touchups as the blood pushes the pigment out while we tattoo.

LIP BLUSHING TATTOO BEFORE & AFTER CARE :

LIP BLUSH PRE CARE

If you have any history of cold sores, fever blisters, or herpes simplex, you must contact your physician. You must obtain and take the proper prescription medication to prevent such outbreaks for at least 4 days before and after the procedure.
- No Lip Filler/treatments 3 weeks before procedure (or 3 weeks after)
-No tanning/excessive sun exposure 2 weeks before the procedure (and 2 weeks after).
-Do not drink alcohol 24 hours beforehand and avoid caffeine the day of your procedure.
- No laser treatments, chemical peels, dermabrasion, or any intense treatments that will cause faster skin cell rejuvenation and skin irritation, 14 days before your lip procedure and 14 days after.
-Do not take any blood thinning medications (unless prescribed by a doctor for medical reasons) one week before your appointment (aka: Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Ibuprofen, etc)
-Although clients typically heal from lips more quickly, please plan your appointment around any events or vacations accordingly.
-Please eat before the procedure, your lips will be swollen and you may have some discomfort before you feel comfortable eating again.
-Please exfoliate your lips 3-5 days prior and keep lips as moisturized as possible 14 days prior to appointment. Working on dry or scaly lips is very difficult and results will not be desirable.
-Do not over scrub to the point that you have raw or compromised skin.
-Cosmetic tattooing is a process. Two or three sessions may be required to achieve the desired results. If you have questions regarding the pre-procedure form please reach out to us! We look forward to working with you.

LIP BLUSH AFTER CARE
What can I expect after my Lip Blush Appointment?
You will experience swelling and scabbing especially in the first few days. Please apply a moisturizing balm frequently. Keeping your lips moisturized will help the healing process immensely! It is normal as you are undergoing a healing process for the pigment to fade, change or disappear completely and reappear weeks later. Healing is a journey! Please also keep in mind that permanent makeup is a multi-step process.
-Do not eat or drink (except water), for the first 3 hours following the procedure. Please try to use a straw while the lips are healing.
-No laser treatments, chemical peels, dermabrasion, or any intense treatments that will cause faster skin cell rejuvenation and skin irritation, 14 days after your lip procedure
-Do not rub, pick at, or try to exfoliate shedding skin away. If the area is itchy, this is normal, please refrain from scratching. Picking at the shedding skin may pull the pigment with it and affect your retention, so just let them do their thing! And never touch your lips with unwashed hands.
-No tanning or Sun exposure for 14 days after. Sun damage causes the skin to exfoliate quicker, which will affect your pigment retention.
-Aside from applying the healing balm, Do not get your lips wet! This includes in the shower, sauna, sweating, swimming, and bath/hot tub for 10-14 days after the procedure.
-You can use lip makeup/gloss on on your lips AFTER 14 days.
